32-leading figures from Cambodia’s Indonesian and international business community have embarked from Phnom Penh on a five-day visit to Jakarta to help raise awareness of business opportunities and investment potential in Cambodia.

The group represents various industries and sectors in Cambodia’s business community including; banking and finance, real estate development, advisory and consultancy, agri-tech, manufacturing, SEZ, logistics and distribution, services, infrastructure and investment.

During the visit from October 21 – 25, the delegation will meet Indonesian counterparts, visit Jababeka & Company, attend the Trade Expo Indonesia, and conduct a Seminar entitled “Cambodia – An Overlooked Destination for Business and Investment” with 107 Indonesian participants already registered.

This inaugural private-sector-led event is jointly organized by Aquarii BD Cambodia and IndoCham, with the support of Khmer Enterprise, and the strong support and inputs from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry or KADIN, and the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

A robust response from the Indonesian business community The group will be engaging with senior members of KADIN Bilateral Committee Vietnam-Cambodia over a luncheon, and network with Indonesian businesspersons, professionals and investors during a Dinner Reception.

Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) has identified Cambodia as a potential next-chapter destination as the two nations aim to increase economic ties and attract more foreign direct investment.

KADIN which stands for ‘Kamar Dagang dan Industri Indonesia‘ in Bahasa Indonesia, or the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the umbrella organization of all Indonesian business chambers and associations.


The group represents various industries and sectors from Cambodia’s business sector.



Dalton Wong, President of IndoCham commented it was fulfilling and gratifying to see the visit finally come to pass after several months of planning and preparation.

“It is encouraging to see the hard work paying off; the robust response from the Indonesian business community for the seminar has exceeded our expectations. I look forward to the site visits and seminar, and hope that this will bring about more business and investment opportunities not only for Cambodia but bilaterally in trade and investment as well,” Dalton added.

Echoing similar sentiments, Chap Sopheak, CEO of ID Capital PLC said the visit was also a good opportunity to get to know other businesses and personalities from Cambodia.

Cambodia’s favorable business and investment policies Topics to be covered by various speakers during the seminar include an overview of the political and socio-economic climate of Cambodia, its favorable business and investment policies, and the opportunities that the Kingdom offers to Indonesian investors and businesses, among others.

It will also include a question-and-answer segment, a business discussion session for the delegation members to meet with Indonesian businesses and investors, followed by a networking dinner reception to cap the visit and seminar.

Kelvin Chua, CEO of C.I.A.C, who is a designated speaker for the seminar, said that he is excited to be part of this delegation to help raise awareness of the business opportunities and potential in Cambodia to the Indonesian business community.

His Excellency Nurul Ichwan, Deputy Minister of Investment of the Republic of Indonesia, and His Excellency Sudirman Haseng, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Cambodia will be gracing the seminar and activities on 24 October 2022.

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has outlined that highlighting successful Indonesian investors in Cambodia will be key to attracting more quality foreign direct investment from Indonesia into the Kingdom.

Speaking at the 2022 Indonesian-Cambodia Investment Dialogue summit CDC Secretary General Sok Chenda Sophea welcomed more Indonesian firms to Cambodia and establish a business that had already been successful in their home country.

“To Indonesian investors, I wish to invite you to visit Cambodia (we have no more quarantine). For those investors please do whatever you are good at in your home.
