Speedwind Distributions, a multinational company specialising in distribution and retail services in Cambodia, has delivered emergency relief kits to Cambodian communities affected by the recent floods.
On Monday, executives and staff of the company visited Kampong Speu and Takeo provinces to personally deliver essential supplies to some 150 affected families.
Each family received 10 kilogrammes of rice, a case of canned sardines, a case of bottled soy sauce, a blanket and medicine.
Chairman of Speedwind Distributions, Dalton Wong, said he was comforted when he saw the smiling faces of people receiving their supplies, and hopes that the donations will help alleviate their hardship during this difficult time.
“We chose these areas because we have learned that many people here have suffered most from the devastating floods,” said Wong. “As a private company operating in Cambodia, we are very happy to give back to the society. Corporate social responsibility has always been at the core of our business.”
Wong called for other private businesses in Cambodia to also help people get through this hard time.
“People need our help now, and we have to do our best to help them,” he added.
Established three years ago, by shareholders with strong capital funding and extensive experience in distribution and FMCG business in Cambodia, Speedwind Distributions has grown to become a major player in the service industry.
The company’s focus on providing excellent distribution and logistics services has solidified an exceptional reputation and, in a short span of time, has seen the company expand into a leading nation-wide distributions service.
Further heavy rains are expected in north-western parts of the country this week, according to the forecast released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Water Resources, as storm Molave hits Vietnam.
